Medical centre.The Doctors Mulgrave Road Medical Centre is a multi-service practice offering helpful on-site nurses, friendly receptionists. The large six bay treatment room is fully equipped including computerised Bluetooth ECG, seven electronic beds, Zeiss operating microscope and onsite sterilisation. Fully accredited.

Q Can you say about your appointments?

Please phone us before hand to make an appointment. This way you can see a particular doctor of your choice and you no need to wait so long. Please tell the receptionist if you need to see a doctor urgently and we will try our best to get you in as soon as possible you no need a previous appointment to come and see one of our doctors. We accept walk-ins any time of the day or night. A female doctor is available for consultations by appointment.

Q Can we reach you after hours?

This practice is open, 8am - 7pm on Monday, 8am - 6pm on Tuesday to Thursday, 8am – 5pm on Friday and 8am – 3pm on Saturday. After hours we have arrangement with the Cairns 24 Hour Medical Centre on the corner of Grafton and Florence streets.

Q Do you maintain privacy?

Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of the practice to maintain personal health information at all times to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members and staff.

Q How long it takes to see doctors?

We make every effort to see patients on time and appreciate our patents taking the same care. Unfortunately, due to emergencies and sometimes extended consultation, the doctors may run late. We appreciate your patience when it happens.

Q Are you sure about the continuity of care?

At The Doctors Mulgrave Road, we prefer to be totally responsible for our patients care. From practice to practice may disadvantage them. It is important for your doctor to know medical history in case of any emergency and to help get you an accurate diagnosis. This way we can continue to give you the best medical care possible. If you would like records transferred, please see our reception staff to sign a consent form.

Q Do you offer home/hotel visits?

We are happy to do home visits where appropriate. However please come to the surgery where possible as we do not have to equipment available at your home. The time for availability of a home/hotel visit is made upon the doctor appointment schedule. We try our best to get them to you in the quickest time possible. Our home/hotel visits are not bulk billed, and a fee is charged on the basis of how far away you are and what the medical complaint is.

Q Can you response telephone calls?

We try to keep interruptions during a consultation to a minimum as they can be very distracting to both the doctor and patient. Most queries are best dealt with by consultation, therefore our general response to a Medical matter over the phone that our reception staff cannot answer, is to come in and see the doctor.

Q Do you offer prescription request?

We rarely provide these without consultation. Our policy is that the patient is asked to see a doctor.

Q Can you explain about payment procedures?

This practice bulk bills: Pensioners, health care card holder and children under 16 years old. Privately bills: All non-health care card holder over the age of sixteen. Privately billed patients will need to pay at the same time of each consultation. However, their out of pocket expenses for most service will be no more than $20.00 one Medicare rebate has been claimed for Medicare card holders. For your convenience this practice can now process Medicare rebates for you over the internet.
