Power Pooches is a dog walking service, with a focus on pooches, that may require extra attention. Our walks are one on one, or two dogs from same household. We watch for any reactive triggers and keep the dogs away from these. The walk is for your pooch, giving them time to sniff, explore, play and exercise. We teach basic manners or use your training techniques. We do not visit dog parks.
Play Date Services to socialise nervous or anxious dogs. Play dates are with Sasha at our home set up for pooches. Only one pooch or two from the same household. Included is water, food, toys, treats, cuddles, photos, videos and much more. Fully supervised plus all areas have cameras. Agility equipment and games also included. Walk and training can be added.
Pooch products that we stock are Australian made and cover: treats, bones, nutrition, leads, harnesses, collars, clothing, tshirts and more for the reactive dog.

Hi I am Jake and adopted Sasha June 2020. She had such a profound effect on my life that I created Power Pooches. A service specialising in helping dogs with anxiety issues.
I have ADHD and anxiety. During the covid lockdown I was working from home and lived 2 hours from my family. The loneliness really affected me to the point I was a regular caller to beyond blue.
I had my name down to foster a dog and eventually Sasha came to me. I was to look after her for 1 week, within 24 hours I was hooked and so I adopted her. I knew Sasha had separation anxiety and already had plans on how to help her but after a few difficult walks I noticed something else – a fear of dogs.
Sasha is my hero sidekick and was adopted at the age of 4. She has some anxiety issues due to past neglect. Separation and ear of dogs. Together we have been working on gaining her power back and in matter of only months, we have made a tremendous amount of progress.
She will still bark, lunge and put on a show when too close to dogs and is yet to socialise in groups, however, we have a large range of techniques to allow her to relax and come back to ground when upset.
I hired a trainer, a behaviorists, spent loads on equipment, books, watched videos, researched, remade the garden, changed my schedule and much more, to accommodate her needs. And every single thing was worth it.
Dogs like Sasha need one on one attention, special leads, reactions and dedicated walkers who are 100% focused on the pooch. I have learnt a great deal and I am studying to become a dog behaviorist and trainer.
Pooches are all different, just like people. They have their own personalities and I believe one size does not fit all. You need to get to know your dog to find out what is the best way to give them a happy, healthy and enriching life!

How many pooches do you take on a walk?
One or two if they live together. Dogs with anxiety, nervous issues or that are reactive, really need the one on one attention. I want to be able to watch each pooch and get to know any triggers so that I can keep a look out for stressful situations that may arise.
Power pooches main aim is to help pooches enjoy a walk without the added stress of an anxiety high.
Do you only service anxious dogs?
No!
Power Pooches is here for all dogs.
We are happy to welcome all into the Power Pooch team.
Just be aware that pricing has been set to allow individual attention.
What do you do to ensure dogs are not lost?
We use Telstra locater tags on all of our pooches.
We have a collar that is linked to the Telstra network and our smart phones.
These tags allow us to see where dogs in our care are at all times.
The system alerts our smart phone if a dog leaves certain areas.
